The Streamlined 1933 Buick

Some FACTS, and a little HISTORY of the 1933 Buick

1933 brought on the radical streamlined Buick from General Motors. The 1933 Buicks"V" shaped grilles were well recessed behind front fenders, as fenders themselves hinted of full wheel coverage by starting to nose-dive toward the bumper. Even though the 1933 styling theme prevailed in the Buick design through 1935, the 1933 Buick was the only year that had the sleek front fenders, the gorgeous new grille. And it was the last year of the big gangster looking headlights that sat just the right height to highlight the beautiful new front end redesign of the 1933 Buick. 1933 was the last year of the cool looking horns that were tucked in just below the headlight close the front fenders. 1933 was the last year of the panel louvers on the hood. 1933 was also the last year of the small turn signs that look great on top of the front fenders. By 1934 the front fender were fatter looking and dropped to just above the front bumper. The 1934 model year grilles really angled back on both sides.

After 73 years from the year this car hit the American Highways, " Street Scene Automotive" DEFINITELY REDEFINES "STREAMLINED" with this GORGEOUS 1933 Buick Series 57 Street Rod!!! "Street Scene Automotives" 2006 Version of the 1933 BUICK STREET ROD just won the Best of its Class at the Birmingham "World of Wheels"!!! It took two years to Design, Engineer and Build. The project started with a solid rust free 52,000 car. After the car was totally disassembled, all of the body parts such as the body shell , fenders, doors and hoods were stripped down to the metal and self etched primed. Only the original outer body skin , the totally redesigned original X Frame and dash gauges were used to build the project ahead, The gauges were rebuilt by United Speedometer. There was 400+ hours in removing the original structural wood in the car and replacing it with steel through out the car and floor to strengthen and reinforce the body. This was done by removing one piece of wood at a time and replacing it with steel, to maintain the shape of the body. The next major improvement was to give the car a beautiful steel roof. A lot of labor of love and about 400 hours went into fabricating the 91 Plymouth Ribbed Roof in place of the canvas top. This is one of many things that makes this car!! The goal ahead was to design and build one of the BEST 1933 Buick Street Rods in the World!!! The X Frame was strengthened and detailed as nice as the exterior. Stainless Hardware was used in building the car. The use of the Kugel all stainless front suspension is what gives the car the low to the ground look in the front end. The Power Steering Rack and Pinion gives it great handling. The 4 Wheel Power Disc Brake System gives it stopping power!! It has Chrome Coil Overs Shocks all around. The POWERHOUSE under the hood is a BIG BLOCK 454 V/8 that was bored 40 over to 468 cubic inches. And the 468 is ENERGIZED by a Street & Performance Ram Air Fuel injection!! Sanderson Headers. Everything on the engine is chrome plated. Serpentine Belt System, Spal Fans, AFCO Aluminum Radiator, Optima Battery. Cannon Turbo 400 Automatic Transmission. The custom paint has a lot of pearl in it. When the sun hits it, it flip flops several colors. It has beautiful highlights of cooper / bronze when the sun hits the paint just right. The new Bronze Tinted Glass compliments the paint job!! The core of the seats came out of a RX 300 Lexus. Heated and Power Seat. They were recovered with Austrian leather which is the top of the line leather hides. Space Saver Spare tire that fits in behind the rear seat. Top of the line Vegas plush carpets. The Billet Speciality Wheels, 17x7 Front & 18x8 Rear with the Nitto NT 555 Tires, 255 / 45 ZR 17 Front & 295 / 45 ZR 18 Rear was the right choice to set this BAD Buick off!!! It has the original Luggage Rack. The car has the right rake and sets nice and low to the ground. It looks great from and angle!! The Gorgeous Chrome was done by S&H Chrome Works.

I have looked high and low to try to find a 1933 Buick Street Rod that came anywhere close to being the quality as this car is and I came up with NOTHING close to it. Simply put...this is probably the most unique 1933 Buick Series 57 Street Rod that you will find available!!! This project was a long drawn out process but the END RESULT is a NICE EXAMPLE !! The long list of details about the car only hits the highlight of the car from it conception to the end result. We could go on and on about it. Really words can't fully describe everything that went into Designing, Engineering and Building 1933 Buick Street Rod!!! You have to see it in person to really appreciate it!!! If you found a good solid original 1933 Buick to build a car like this and the qualified person willing to tackle the project, you would probably spend $200,000.00 to build a car that came anywhere close to this car!!! It really is a RARE FIND!!!
