T-5: A HORSE WITH NO NAME!!
(Mustang Name and Emblems Delete)
An unusual version of the Mustang, dubbed the T-5 (the original product code designation for the Mustang program) was sold in Germany between 1964 and 1979. Part of Ford marketing plan was to sell the pony car in Germany to both US military and German customers. Trademark rights for the name "Mustang," however were already taken by a truck and motorbike manufacturer. Ford was forced to DELETE all reference to the name on the models exported to the German market. What is so RARE In 2004 about a 1966 T-5 isn't the fact that Ford shipped a few to German. BUT it is the FACT that 38 years LATER in 2004, that the very few that are left, there are "ANY" NICE EXAMPLES that survived the trip to Germany and FOUND their way back home to the GOOD OLD USA!!!!! It's is hard to find nice examples of 38 year old 1966 MUSTANGS that were BORN to LIVE in the USA and survive ALMOST 4 DECADES and STILL "LOOK GORGEOUS" CRUISING AMERICAN'S HIGHWAYS in 2004!!! SO the T-5 (MUSTANG) DESERVES OUR RESPECT for having to LOST the "NAME" MUSTANG, and become an EXPORT and go to Germany with the undercover name T-5 and then FIND "IT'S" way home and lives to tell their story!! These NICE EXAMPLE that survived are GREAT INVESTMENTS!!!
This 1966 FORD T-5 EXPORT (MUSTANG)
Fastback is A VERY RARE FIND! It has been well Maintained by several
collectors over the years after having a nice restoration. Since
coming back home to the USA it has been HAPPILY LIVING in Sunny
California. It is looking for a NEW NICE OWNER that will continue
to keep it WELL MAINTAINED another 38 years. This Gorgeous T-5 was
born a factory Raven Black car from the factory. The DSO Code 95
confirms that it was built a T-5 EXPORT. It still has its BUCK Tag
under the hood with the manufacturing information that lines up
with the door data tag. Both tag confirms that it was a 289 V/8
factory 4 Speed car. It has a Beautiful Black Bucket Seat Interior.
Rally Pac Gauges. (tach and clock both work) Two very rare things
in the interior confirm that it is a REAL T-5. First thing is that
the Speedometer is in km/h instead of MPH. And the second thing
is that the name Mustang is missing from the horn button. It just
has Ford on it. Then on the front Fenders where the Emblem Mustang
usually is , it has a Emblem with T-5 on it. This T-5 runs out STRONG
and drives VERY NICE! It was done correctly under the hood and still
look nice. The trunk compartment is nice. In ALL of my years of
collecting Mustangs, this is my FIRST T-5 and one of the MOST HONEST
SOLID cars that I have had. It is TRUELY A RARE FIND and will make
someone VERY HAPPY!! The NEW STYLED STEEL WHEELS with the new RED
LINE TIRES REALLY SET this T-5 off!!!!! It WON'T LAST LONG after
it finds it way to the market place on this web site!!! As RARE
as NICE EXAMPLES are, I won't be surprised if it became an EXPORT
again and going back across the ocean to some Mustang lover in England
or Germany again.
